Stop 114A is the Centre for Independent Journalism's latest campaign for Internet freedom in Malaysia.
The campaign was created in response to a recent amendment made to Malaysia's Evidence Act 1950. Known as Section 114A, the amendment threatens to create a climate of self-censorship and unwarranted surveillance online.
The amendment was passed in Parliament in May 2012, but it has yet to be implemented.
The goal of CIJ's Stop 114A campaign is to stop the amendment from being gazetted.
The next phase of the Stop 114A campaign is an Internet Blackout taking place on 14 August 2012.
