Rainbow Ribbon Campaign

Broken Rainbow UK runs the only National LGBT Domestic Violence Helpline and offers support to LGBT communities, their friends and family, and agencies working in the domestic violence sector. In partnership with The White Ribbon Campaign, Broken Rainbow UK launched the Rainbow Ribbon Campaign last year to highlight that: “LGBT people experience domestic violence too…” Despite the progress made in terms of services and rights for victims of domestic violence, much of this is centred on a heterosexual framework. LGBT people’s experience of domestic violence remains invisible, leaving victims isolated, combined with a lack of effective support and services. With numbers as high as 1 in 4 lesbian, gay, or bi people, and up to 1 in 3 trans people likely to experience domestic violence, help us to raise awareness of LGBT Domestic Violence.
