Equal Marriage in the UK

On 17th February 2011, the Liberal Democrat equalities minister Lynne Featherstone announced a Government consultation into equal marriage and civil partnership in the UK. The consultation covers: 1. Making marriage available to couples regardless of gender or sexuality 2. Making civil partnership similarly available to all 3. Allowing legal conversion between marriage and civil partnership without a seperate divorce or annulment This consultation reflects the policy of the Liberal Democrats, but this twibbon is to encourage supporters of all parties (and none!) to come together to respond positively to the consultation.
