FFU Scotland CIC, Scotland's National Non Profit for Fibromyalgia Awareness Week, light up campaign 10-16th May 2021.
Raising the profile of Fibromyalgia that affects approximately 200-300,000 people across Scotland.
Fibromyalgia is a highly complex , debilitating and fluctuating syndrome of the central nervous system. A very real diagnosis with centuries of history and research and formally recognised in 1976 as the syndrome we know today. A syndrome that is not only highly misunderstood but also has ongoing stigma within society and within health and other professions. This can leave the person living with the syndrome feeling isolated, confused and many years of feeling unheard towards diagnosis.
The campaign wishes to highlight the significant prevalence of Fibromyalgia in Scotland, the inequalities felt by those living with the syndrome and increase public understanding and awareness.
