Sigma tau delta is the pioneer sorority of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of medicine and surgery. Sigma tau delta or the Sorority of thomasian doctors was founded in 1963 with the aim of fostering the development of camaraderie and sisterhood during the pre and postgraduate years, to provide opportunities for expanding the fields of academic and cultural development and lastly, to develop a well rounded character.
