Remember A Charity Week 2012

Remember A Charity Week is an annual awareness week designed to promote legacies and encourage more people to consider leaving a gift to charity in their Will. During the week, charities will be holding events across the UK to urge people to think about including a good cause in their Will, once they have looked after family and friends. While around three quarters of Britons regularly give to charity in their lifetimes, only 7% currently include a charity in their Will. Nevertheless, gifts in Wills are still the foundation of many of Britain’s charities, creating nearly £2 billion each year, the equivalent of 20 Comic Reliefs. Without this income many charities would simply not exist and others would have to cut crucial services.
