The #MyLegacy campaign is purposed to build AWARENESS within our people around Chronic Disease. Many have heard of Diabetes, Obesity, Heart disease and Hypertension but not so many stop to take the time to address it, intervene or get educated on how to prevent it from affecting the lives of our next generations. It runs rampantly within our communities, and can be destructive in all cultures. This is due to the enormous consumption of processed foods and lack of everyday physical activity people get. Will this be what we’re known for? Is this what we pass on to our children?
Is Chronic Disease #MyLegacy?
Surely not!
The Good Start Program- A multicultural Queensland Health promotion organisation wants you to join the campaign to strengthen the awareness and help make a change by "Bringing Health Back".
Following the month of the #MyLegacy campaign, we will be hosting our inaugural #MyLegacy Family Festival to be held Wednesday 10th December 2014 in Queensland. We would love to see you there.
Till then, How can you support the #MyLegacy campaign and leave a Legacy of your own?
Simple. Create a video of yourself stating your family or your own History of Chronic Disease and or Health implications followed by the statement “this is NOT #MyLegacy! #MyLegacy is…” Then nominate 2 friends, family members or colleagues to do the same within 24hours. Upload the video to your personal Facebook page, tag your nominees, tag our FB page TheGoodStartProgram or Twitter account @goodstart_MPI, Hashtag #MyLegacy.
