CRUK Relay For Life

Relay For Life is an overnight fundraising event for Cancer Research UK welcoming teams of friends, family and colleagues to take up the challenge of walking in relay-style around a track for 24 hours. Teams create a party atmosphere by welcoming cancer survivors as guests of honour, enjoying live entertainment and organising fundraising stalls and activities the public and fellow teams. At 11pm the Relay draws briefly to a halt for the candle of hope ceremony when candles, dedicated in hope, celebration and remembrance, are lit and placed around a track to signify that cancer never sleeps and neither will we until we find a cure. To date, Relay For Life in Dumfries and Galloway has raise £379,000 to help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Help us make it sooner.
