Hillsborough Anfield Run
On the morning of Saturday April 15th 1989, thousands of Liverpool fans set off for an FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest at Hillsborough, the home of Sheffield Wednesday FC. 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives that day and many hundreds of others were badly injured. For Liverpool fans, the number 96 is etched in the collective memory of Liverpool Football Club. In the intervening years, Liverpool fans have never let the world forget the 96 despite many injustices and setbacks. And until some comfort is brought to the families of the 96 and until someone is called to account for the deaths of these 96 souls, Liverpool fans will continue to remind the world what happened that dreadful spring day. Dominic Williams is one of those fans who will not let the 96 or their families be forgotten. And so, with five others, they will run 76 miles in less than 3 days from Hillsborough to Anfield, arriving just before the kick off against Fulham FC on the morning of April 14th.
