Hillsborough Anfield Run
On the morning of Saturday April 15th 1989, thousands of Liverpool fans set off for an FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest at Hillsborough, the home of Sheffield Wednesday FC. 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives that day and many hundreds of others were badly injured. For Liverpool fans, the number 96 is etched in the collective memory alongside other numbers such as 5 and 18. Until some comfort is brought to the families of the 96 and until someone is called to account for the deaths of these 96 souls, Liverpool fans will continue to remind the world what happened that dreadful spring day and since then. Dominic Williams is one of those fans who will not let the 96 or their families be forgotten. And so, with five others, they will run 76 miles in less than 3 days from Hillsborough to Anfield. The six runners will be raising funds along the route and online for the families of the Hillsborough Disaster.
