Case Study - UFC

UFC – The Ultimate Fighting Championship – created two custom campaigns for their 116th meeting, which involved a title showdown between Shane Carwin and Brock Lesnar.

With a Twibbon for each fighter, UFC brought in a competitive element between the two campaigns, driving up the number of supporters for each Twibbon.

The custom campaign allowed UFC to:

  • Have supporters automatically follow their @UFC Twitter account
  • Promote their Facebook page on each Twibbon’s page
  • Display the UFC 116 website URL in supporters’ tweets and status updates
  • Redirect new supporters to the official UFC 116 website

After gathering a combined 1,900 supporters in the month leading up to the meet, the Twibbon Custom Campaigns managed to drive 1,500 new, targeted followers to the @UFC Twitter account. With a total cost of just $198, this works out at only 13c for each follower!
