Pansy Project NI/Enough
The Pansy Project NI creates temporary memorials to victims of homophobia as well as to raise awareness of prejudice and people’s experiences in Belfast and Northern Ireland. The award winning artist Paul Harfleet will plant pansies at sites and locations of homophobic insults and incidents. The Rainbow Project are co-ordinating a month long postcard and online campaign that launches during Northern Ireland Anti-Homophobia week (1-5th Nov) that encourages members of the LGB community and others who have been victims of or witness to homophobic prejudice and hate to share their experiences anonymously. This campaign will raise awareness about people’s experiences and broaden understanding of hate. The Enough box will tour different events and locations during the month of November for people who have been victims and witnesses of prejudice and homophobic abuse to commit their experiences to postcard or people can go online and report at www.uniteagainsthate.org.uk
