Meet Gilad

Gilad Shalit, a 24 year old Israeli, has been languishing in captivity for over four years, held hostage by the Hamas Terrorist organisation. Contrary to international law, Gilad has been denied all visits, including from organisations such as the Red Cross. Unlike so many other elements of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the story of Gilad Shalit is not as well-known amongst the wider UK public. For this reason, the Embassy of Israel alongside ten other community organisations will be launching a national, two-week Gilad Shalit Awareness Campaign on the 14th of February.
