Kagamimochi

"Kagami-mochi" is a decoration of the flat rotundly, rice cake offered to gods and Buddha at the new year. Big and small two rice cakes are celebrated and the offering new year is celebrated repeatedly. It is "Kagami-biraki" as for the wish for family's harmoniousness, and it is good, and one of the new year of Japan events of "Kagami-mochi" that kept being decorated such as hammers on January 11 the breaking dividing eating by burning and boiling. Rice cake offering is assumed and 'Cut it' act is assumed to be an impolite act to gods and Buddha by the kitchen knife.
