Bats are brilliant! #_BCT_

The Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) is the only UK organisation solely devoted to the conservation of bats and their habitats in the UK. Its vision is a world where bats and people live in harmony Bats are fascinating and unique animals, being the only true flying mammal. In the UK we are lucky enough to have 17 species of bats, accounting for more than a quarter of all UK mammal species, so they are a vital part of our native wildlife and natural heritage. Bats are also indicators of a green and healthy environment, so their future is directly linked to our quality of life and the quality of our environment. Sadly, our UK bat populations have declined dramatically during the past century, largely due to a loss of natural habitat and roost sites, a decline in the insects they feed on, and public misconceptions about bats. BCT does an enormous amount of work with extremely limited resources. We urgently need support to ensure our work to protect these amazing animals for future generations can continue.
