Across Georgia, people living with chronic and life-threatening conditions have paid their health insurance premiums, only to find that they can no longer afford the medications that keep them alive. This is because insurers are increasingly moving treatments from traditional formularies onto “specialty tiers,” where there are no limits to what they can charge patients out of pocket. We need state legislative action to the limit medication out-of-pocket costs for insured Georgians.
