Quarters Count

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect and encourage individuals and communities to support children and families. Over 70,000 children in San Diego are abused each year. Home Start is fighting to end this cycle of abuse and this prevention is the core objective of Home Start and its many programs that serve San Diego. Home Start will be launching a “Quarters Count” campaign that will run during the month of April. A simple gift of one quarter (25 cents) from every San Diegan can make a significant impact with struggling families and children in need. Backed by an aggressive media campaign, grassroots events and partnerships with area schools, the Quarters Count campaign aims to raise one million dollars to fund vital programs that support the prevention of child abuse.
